Philadelphia Flyers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-7-2023

The Philadelphia Flyers face the Tampa Bay Lightning with both teams looking to improve from rough stretches. The Flyers have a 24-28-11 record and with only two wins in their last 10 games are near the bottom of the Eastern Conference. The Lightning have a 37-21-5 record and are in third place in the Atlantic Division but have lost five games in a row. Both teams look to improve in the Eastern Conference and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Flyers are having an awful season with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.62 goals per game with only nine goals in the last five games. Kevin Hayes, Owen Tippett, and Scott Laughton have scored 50 goals and 68 assists but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only six active skaters have 10 goals or more and opponents can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.

The offense has been awful but the defense has also struggled, allowing 3.25 goals per game. Travis Sanheim and Ivan Provorov have combined for 5.4 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. The bright spot has been the play of goaltender Carter Hart who has a .908 save percentage and a 2.89 goals-against average on 1381 shots with 4.1 goals saved above average.
