It was a tough day shooting that doomed the Grizzlies, as they hit 36.9% of their shots, including going 11-32 from three-point range (34.4%). The Grizzlies held an eight-point lead heading into the half, but Denver completely dominated from there, outscoring Memphis over the final two quarters by 24. Ja Morant recorded a double-double, scoring 27 points while adding 10 assists.
Memphis is an outstanding team on both ends of the court, ninth in points per game (115.6) and sixth in points allowed per game (111.6). They have been stellar defensively, allowing 44.7% shooting to opponents, the best in the NBA. Offensively they have not been as consistent, hitting 46.7% of their own shots, 20th overall, but this team wins with exceptional rebounding, second in the league at 47.6 per game. That gives them plenty of second and third opportunities.
