TCU vs. Oklahoma Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-4-2023

The Oklahoma Sooners play host to the TCU Horned Frogs in a crucial Big 12 showdown on Saturday from the Lloyd Noble Center. The Sooners have struggled down the stretch, though they should still make things difficult for the Horned Frogs in this one. TCU on the other hand has won two in a row coming into the weekend and wants to keep momentum trending in the right direction. TCU dominated at home in the first meeting between the two and a season sweep would go a long way toward securing confidence as the season draws to an end, though Oklahoma won't go down easy at home.

For TCU, they hit the road for their season finale, and even after dominating in the first meeting between the two this season, they might have their work cut out for them in the rematch. They've won two in a row and three of four coming into this one and are safely in the NCAA Tournament, though finishing off is key to securing top-notch seeding. With a 4-6 record in true road games, they could struggle in this one, though with Oklahoma's not having much to play for themselves, the Horned Frogs will at least have something to play for in the rematch. The first meeting saw TCU dominate in every facet of the game but especially on the glass, an area that can certainly translate to the road.

The Horned Frogs have battled injuries for much of the season but seem to finally be getting healthier as the Big 12 Tournament draws near. They will continue to be without Rondel Walker (arm), while Souleymane Doumbia (conc ussion) is questionable. In their appearances this season, the two have combined to only average 18 minutes per game, as they aren't likely to be missed in this one.

The offense is likely to find success in this one, though the three-point shooting could be problematic, as they rank 354th nationally in three-point percentage. The defensive side is where this group expects to shine in this one. They rank 120th in scoring defense and top 100 in a number of other defensive categories but as mentioned earlier, the rebounding will be the difference. Not only should they be able to find success on the offensive glass but they shouldn't have any issues keeping Oklahoma from generating second-chance points. In the end, having Mike Miles Jr. (17.2 ppg) will be key and as one of the best offensive threats in the Big 12, should have his way from a scoring standpoint.
