The fifth-seeded Indiana State Sycamores look for their third win in as many days when they face the top-seeded Bradley Braves Saturday afternoon with the winner advancing to Sunday’s title game. Indiana State survived a track meet as they edged fourth-seeded Belmont 94-91 in the quarterfinals Friday afternoon, covering the line as a 2.5-point favorite. Bradley held off a spirited effort from eighth-seeded Northern Iowa, winning 72-66 but failing to cover as a 10.5-point line, in their quarterfinal tilt Friday afternoon. In the all-time series between the schools, the Braves own a 54-42 advantage and earned a 78-67 win on the road in the lone meeting this season on January 18.

Indiana State won their second straight game in the MVC Tournament as they followed up their rout of 12th-seeded Evansville by downing fourth-seeded Belmont in the quarterfinals in a thriller Friday afternoon. The Sycamores improved to 22-11 on the season with the triumph. Against Belmont, points were coming fast and furious on both ends of the floor. Indiana State led 6-0 just over a minute into the game, by as many as nine in the first half and by five at intermission. In the second half, the Sycamores opened their biggest lead at 72-59 with 12:40 to play only to see Belmont storm back with a 30-16 run to take an 89-88 lead with 2:04 remaining. Indiana State regained the lead for good on a Cooper Neese three-pointer, his ninth of the game, with 1:26 to play, and they hit three of four free throws down the stretch to secure the win. The Sycamores shot 50.8% from the field, including a blistering 16 of 28 from three-point range, and prevailed despite allowing Belmont to shoot 53% in the contest. Neese led the way for the Sycamores with 33 points in the victory.
On the season, Indiana State is 27th in the country in scoring offense as they put up an average of 79.3 points per game on the year. The Sycamores are collecting an average of 34.8 rebounds per contest while they dish out an average of 15.9 assists per game. Indiana State is slightly above average on the defensive end of the floor, ranking 133rd in scoring defense by allowing 68.6 points per game.
