Florida State (FSU) vs. Virginia Tech Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-4-2023

Virginia Tech and Florida State wrap up their regular seasons on Saturday as they meet in Blacksburg. The Virginia Tech Hokies are 17-13 overall and 7-12 in the Atlantic Coast Conference while the Florida State Seminoles are 9-21 overall and 7-12 in the ACC. This is their first head to head matchup this season. Virginia Tech won last season 85-72. Tipoff is at 4:00 p.m. EST at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va.

The Florida State Seminoles are putting the wraps on a season they would rather forget. It's not over yet and they can make a run in the ACC Tournament, but at 9-21 overall and 7-12 in the ACC, that is not likely. Nor is a trip to any type of post season tournament. The Seminoles come into this game having lost 8 of their last 10 games. But just one week ago, they pulled off a huge upset, upsetting 16th ranked Miami, at Miami, 85-84 as a 13 point favorite.

However, they reverted back to the Seminoles of old, or at least the 2022-23 version of the Seminoles, as they lost at home to North Carolina on Monday, 77-67, as an 8 point underdog. The Seminoles were ice cold from three point range, making just 3 of 15. They usually shoot 43% from three, which ranks 42nd in the nation, so this is usually a strength. But this game was a clunker. Caleb Mills led Florida State with 19 points and 6 rebounds while Matthew Cleveland had 12 points and 9 rebounds in the loss.
