Montreal Canadiens vs. Anaheim Ducks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-3-2023

The Montreal Canadiens face the Anaheim Ducks with both teams looking to improve on rough seasons. The Canadiens have a 26-30-4 record and are in last place in the Atlantic Division while the Ducks have a 20-34-8 record and with only three wins in their last 10 games are in last place in the Pacific Division. Both teams look to improve in their divisions following the trade deadline and the upcoming game looks to be a good one as a result.

The Canadiens are having a rough season with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.70 goals per game. Nick Suzuki and Kirby Dach have scored 32 goals and 50 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only four active skaters have 10 goals or more and opponents can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.

The offense has been awful but the defense has let the Canadiens down, allowing 3.58 goals per game. Johnathan Kovacevic and Jordan Harris have combined for 4.3 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has been awful, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Sam Montembeault has struggled with a .905 save percentage and a 3.31 goals-against average on 891 shots with -0.6 goals saved above average.
