The Toronto Maple Leafs face the Edmonton Oilers with both teams looking to build off of strong seasons. The Maple Leafs have a 37-15-8 record and with three wins in a row are in second place in the Atlantic Division. The Oilers have a 32-21-8 record and are in third place in the Pacific Division but hope to rebound from back-to-back losses. The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.62 goals per game. Mark Giordano and Timothy Liljegren have combined for 7.9 defensive point shares and 289 blocked shots while Justin Holl and Rasmus Sandin have combined for 6.1 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Ilya Samsonov has been great with a .918 save perce ntage and a 2.30 goals-against average on 852 shots with 10.7 goals saved above average.
