The Toronto Maple Leafs face the Edmonton Oilers with both teams looking to build off of strong seasons. The Maple Leafs have a 37-15-8 record and with three wins in a row are in second place in the Atlantic Division. The Oilers have a 32-21-8 record and are in third place in the Pacific Division but hope to rebound from back-to-back losses. Both teams look to improve in their divisions and the upcoming game looks to be a great one as a result.

The Maple Leafs are having a great season with their offense carrying them, scoring 3.45 goals per game with 13 goals in the last three games. Mitch Marner, John Tavares, and William Nylander have scored 80 goals and 127 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has also been great. Auston Matthews, Michael Bunting, and Calle Jarnkrok have combined for 59 goals and 69 assists while defensemen Morgan Rielly and Mark Giordano have added six goals and 45 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.62 goals per game. Mark Giordano and Timothy Liljegren have combined for 7.9 defensive point shares and 289 blocked shots while Justin Holl and Rasmus Sandin have combined for 6.1 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Ilya Samsonov has been great with a .918 save perce ntage and a 2.30 goals-against average on 852 shots with 10.7 goals saved above average.
