A pair of teams from the Atlantic 10 take to the hardwood in search of a conference victory in the Buckeye State. The La Salle Explorers are on the road as they make the trip to face the Dayton Flyers Tuesday night. La Salle comes in off a 92-85 road loss at George Washington Saturday evening in their previous game, failing to cover as a three-point underdog. Dayton was beaten 74-69 at home by George Mason in their previous game Saturday evening, losing outright as an 11-point favorite in that contest. In the all-time series between the programs, the Flyers own a 30-19 advantage but the Explorers have taken the last two meetings. That includes a 62-60 home win in the most recent matchup on February 26, 2022.

La Salle hung around but couldn’t find a way to slow down George Washington on the offensive end of the floor, sending them to a third straight loss. The Explorers fell to 13-16 overall and stand tied for ninth in conference play with a 7-9 record heading into this game. Against George Washington, La Salle trailed 8-0 less than three minutes into the game but rallied to lead by two at the half. In the second half, the Explorers trailed by just one with 16:08 to play before giving up a 19-3 run over the next seven minutes to leave them down 71-54. La Salle never got closer than the final margin after that. The Explorers shot 40% from the field, including 13 of 35 from three-point range, and allowed the Colonials to hit 58.6% from the floor in the contest. Daeshon Shepard (six rebounds) and Foussenyi Drame each had 14 points to lead La Salle in the loss.

The Explorers put up an average of 70.1 points per game on the season, putting them 216th in scoring offense this season. La Salle grabs 35.6 rebounds per contest while handing out 12.1 assists per game. The Explorers have been below average defensively, coming in 272nd in scoring defense by allowing 73.1 points per contest. Khalil Brantley leads the Explorers in scoring as he averages 13.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. Josh Nickelberry (11.3 points, 2.7 rebounds) is the only other player scoring in double figures this season. Foussenyi Drame, Jhamir Brickus, Anwar Gill, Hassan Drame, Daeshon Shepard, Rokas Jocius, Mamadou Doucore and Andres Marrero each will be looked at to contribute this season. The Explorers shoot 42% from the floor as a team. La Salle knocks down 7.5 triples a night while hitting 34.2% from beyond the arc. The Explorers are struggling at the free throw line as they convert only 69.2% of their attempts at the line this season.
