Buffalo vs. Northern Illinois (NIU) Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-28-2023

It is a clash in the Mid-American Conference as the Northern Illinois Huskies host the Buffalo Bulls. The Huskies are 12-17 and 8-8 in the MAC while the Bulls come in with a record of 13-16 and 7-9 in the conference. Buffalo stomped Northern Illinois 80-62 at home back in January. Can they complete the season sweep? Tipoff is at 8:00 p.m. EST at the Convocation Center in DeKalb, Illinois.

The Buffalo Bulls are limping to the finish line as they have lost four of their last five games. They have fallen to 13-16 overall and 7-9 in the MAC, good for 7th placer, 7 full games behind first place Toledo. Barring some huge run down the stretch in the conference tournament, it is unlikely that the Bulls will see any action in the post season.

The Bulls are coming off a 101–71 blowout loss at Toledo in their last outing. Aside from a win over Central Michigan, they have been blown out in each of four recent losses and have failed to cover the spread in five of their last six games. The Bulls are led by Curtis Jones with 14.9 points per game and Zid Powell, who averages 12.9 points per contest. They average 77.8 points per game but give up 77.4 points per contest.
