After NHL all day Saturday, we have early afternoon action yet again today. For those that have been following our NHL player props, not only do we appreciate you, we also need to snap our current cold streak. For the first time, we've had more than 2 days in a row of missing plays, but our research is always here. We're not wasting any time with today's plays, as they're in the first 2 games of the day. Our target is 2 assist props and if you'd like a third, check out Steven Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Let's get into 2 guys who should cash even before his matchup.& #39;

Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today's action.

Rasmus Dahlin over 0.5 assists (-150)

The first puck drops in Buffalo with the Sabres hosting the Washington Capitals. These are 2 Eastern Conference teams trying to make a push for a playoff spot, making the matchup all the more important. They're also both teams coming off big wins. The Sabres just defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers on the road on back-to-back nights, while the Caps took down the New York Rangers just yesterday afternoon. However, that game 24 hours prior puts Washington at a disadvantage. Starting goaltender Darcy Kuemper was in net, which puts backup Charlie Lindgren between the pipes today.'

His last start was a loss to arguably the worst team in the NHL, the Anaheim Ducks. Prior to that was a loss to the team just above them in the standings, the San Jose Sharks. If those teams can get the puck past him, the 3rd-highest scoring team in the NHL certainly can. One of the primary reasons Buffalo's offense has been so potent has been Dahlin linking up with Tage Thompson. Dahlin is 2nd on the team with 62 points through 56 games, 48 of which have been assists. That's tied for the 8th-most assists in the NHL, and his 26 minutes of ice time per game is the 3rd-most in the league. He assisted Thompson for a goal against the Caps just last month and can certainly do the same with a backup goalie in net today.
