A pair of teams from the Big Ten do battle in search of a victory in the Great Lakes State. The Wisconsin Badgers are on the road as they travel to take on the Michigan Wolverines Sunday afternoon. Wisconsin earned a 64-52 home win over Iowa in their previous contest, covering the line as a one-point favorite, in their previous contest Wednesday night. Michigan dropped Rutgers 58-45 on the road in their previous game Thursday night, winning outright as a six-point underdog. In the all-time series between the teams, the Wolverines own a 72-57 advantage but the Badgers have taken the last two meetings. That includes a 64-59 win in the first meeting this season on February 14.

Wisconsin had dropped nine of their previous 13 games as they took down Iowa at home in their last game Wednesday night. The Badgers ran their record to 16-11 overall and stand tied for 10th in the conference with an 8-9 record in the Big Ten. Against Iowa, Wisconsin trailed by six early but rallied to take a one-point advantage at the half. In the second half, the Badgers clamped down defensively, using a 19-6 run to erase a one-point deficit and take a 59-47 lead with 4:20 remaining. Wisconsin didn’t let Iowa closer than 10 down the stretch to secure the win. The Badgers shot 52.1% from the floor, including four of 18 from three-point range, and held Iowa to 32.3% shooting in the game. Connor Essegian led the Badgers with 17 points in the win.

The Badgers are 336th in the nation in scoring offense this season as they are putting up an average of 64.6 points per game. W isconsin grabs 31.4 rebounds per contest and hands out 12 assists per game. The Badgers are 24th in the nation in scoring defense as they allow 62.8 points a night. Tyler Wahl is one of four Badgers averaging in double figures as he averages 11.3 points plus 6.2 boards a night on the season. Chucky Hepburn (12.4 points, three boards, 2.9 assists), Jordan Davis and Steven Crowl (11.5 points, 7.2 rebounds) are good secondary options. Max Klesmit, Connor Essegian (11.7 points), Markus Ilver, Carter Gilmore, Jahcobi Neath and Kamari McGee all are called upon for key minutes and contributions for the Badgers. Wisconsin shoots 41.5% from the floor as a team this season. The Badgers sink 8.4 three-pointers a game while hitting 35.5% from beyond the arc.
