The Western Michigan Broncos will travel to the James A. Rhodes Arena on Sunday evening in a Mid-American Conference matchup to take on the Akron Zips. The Broncos are brutal as they are 7-21 (3-12) so far this season as last in the conference and are coming off a 66-59 road loss on Tuesday against the Eastern Michigan Eagles. The Zips are a s olid 19-9 (11-4) up to this point and are coming off an 84-63 road loss on Tuesday against the Toledo Rockets. Akron were able to pick up a 63-55 road win back on Jan. 21 so they are trying to sweep the regular season series.

The Western Michigan Broncos have been absolutely struggling this year and are coming off a 66-59 road loss against the Eastern Michigan Eagles. They lost in the second half of the game as the Eagles won the half 38-31. The Broncos struggled to shoot the ball at a decent level from three as they were 23-of-58 (39.7 percent) overall, 8-of-28 (28.6 percent) from distance, and only nine free-throw attempts. Senior guard Lamar Norman Jr led the team as in 38 minutes he finished with 18 points, two rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal. Defensively, they did a decent job as they allowed 44.2 percent from the floor and 26.7 percent from three here. Western Michigan needed to do better than they did as they finished with a pair of steals and blocks throughout the game after forcing eight turnovers. 

< p>The Western Michigan Broncos are struggling offensively this season as they are 221st in the nation with 70 points per game thus far and shooting a less than ideal 43.5 percent from the floor and are averaging 12.7 assists per game. Defensively, they are allowing 74 points per game, which is 294th in the country. They have been causing issues at a decent rate with 2.4 blocks and 4.6 steals per game thus far.
