Missouri vs. Georgia Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-25-2023

Facing off for the only time this year with just a few games left, the Missouri Tigers (20-8, 13-14-1 ATS, 8-7 SEC) and Georgia Bulldogs (16-12, 11-17-0 ATS, 6-9 SEC) will both be continuing a late push for the NCAA Tournament in this one. Missouri has won five of the past six meetings between these schools. Georgia can start putting an end to those struggles at home on Saturday afternoon. This game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. EST in Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia.

A hard-fought win over Mississippi State, a team on the bubble, on Tuesday has Missouri's tournament dreams looking sweet still. However, hard-fought may be an understatement, as it took the Tigers overtime and a late three-pointer to win that game at home. They only shot 36.7% from the floor but got the buckets that they needed. A Tolu Smith double-double was instrumental in putting Missouri in a position to win that game. Ranking only 63rd per KenPom, winning that game was far more important than how it happened.

Behind a high tempo, Mizzou puts up 79.8 points per contest, the second most in the SEC behind only #2 Alabama. They're also second in the conference in shooting percentage at 47.1%, a number that's 43rd in the country. Yet again, their three-point percentage is second in the SEC, knocking down 36.0% of their attempts from deep.

The fast pace leads to a lot of points against, 75.1, the most in the SEC this season. They're also last in opponent three-point percentage, allowing makes on 35.4% of tries. Overall, foes shoot 44.3% against the Tigers, a number beating only two teams in the conference.
