Two teams with championship aspirations began their post-All-Star break run Friday night on ESPN when the Milwaukee Bucks (41-17) host the Miami Heat (32-27). Miami is 2-1 both straight up and against the spread when facing Milwaukee this season.
The Miami Heat are seventh in the Eastern Conference, but only half a game behind the New York Knick for sixth, which would allow them to avoid the Play-In Tournament. The Heat made two moves to add depth at the break adding Kevin Love and Cody Zeller. Love averaged 8.5 ppg and 6.8 rebs in 41 games with Cleveland this season while shooting 35.4% from three and 88.9% from the free throw line. Zeller played 27 games with Portland this season and was averaging 5.2 ppg and 4.6 rebs in just 13.1 minutes per game.
