The Appalachian State Mountaineers will wrap up their regular season schedule on Friday night with this matchup with Georgia Southern. The Mountaineers have won two of their last three games, including a 78-52 win over Georgia State on Wednesday night. With the win, the Mountaineers completed the season sweep of Georgia State. Christopher Mantis led the Mountaineers with 22 points on an efficient 8-of-11 shooting. Donovan Gregory added 16 points while CJ Huntley chipped in with 14.

App State will be looking for a season split with Georgia Southern with a win on Friday night. The Mountaineers dropped the opener, 67-65, on the heels of a Georgia Southern buzzer beater. A win here will also assure App State of a higher seeding in the Sun Belt Conference tournament. App State has performed markedly better on the defensive end than the offensive end in league play. The Mountaineers are second in the conference in scoring defense, fourth in opponent's field goal percentage and fourth in 3pt defense. On the offensive end, App State is 10th in scoring offense in the conference, 11th in field goal percentage and just 13th in 3pt offense. The Mountaineers are also just 10th in total rebounding.
