In the all-time series between the teams, the Anteaters have won all five meetings, including a 76-60 road win in the first meeting this season February 2.

UC San Diego lost for the sixth time in seven games as they were knocked off by UC Davis in their previous contest Monday night on the road. The Toreros enter this game 9-19 overall and stand ninth in the Big West with a 4-12 mark in conference play. The Tritons gave up a 13-3 run to start the second half, leaving them down 12 with 14:14 remaining, and never got closer than three the rest of the way. UC San Diego shot 39.3% from the field, including seven of 22 from three-point range, and turned the ball over 16 times in the loss. Roddie Anderson III led the Tritons with 24 points in the loss.
