Towson (19-10 SU, 14-15 ATS) meets Charleston (26-3 SU, 16-11-1 ATS) on Thursday night from the TD Arena at 7pmET on CBS Sports.
The Cougars are a half-game behind red-hot Hofstra for first place in the CAA at 14-2, while Towson is 11-5 and tied with UNCW for third place. These teams met on Dec. 31 in Towson with the Cougars edging the Tigers 76-74 in overtime as a 3-point underdog.
Towson has had a strange season, having lost three straight road games including to the likes of Drexel in overtime and William & Mary by two points as a 10.5-point road favorite. They bounced back to destroy Delaware at home 95-72 last Thursday and held on to beat North Carolina A&T in their final home game on Saturday as an 11.5-point favorite. The Tigers haven't quite lived up to preseason predictions of capturing the CAA Championship, they accomplished one key goal and that was to finish in the top four. If they had finished in fifth place, they would not have gotten a first-round bye, which is crucial to winning the title.

In their win over North Carolina A&T 87-75, Nicolas Timberlake poured in 26 points to lead the Tigers to their 19th overall win. Charles Thompson added 15 points, 17 rebounds and five blocks. Towson opened up the game leading 20-2 and nearly lost the lead in the second half thanks to 11 turnovers. They shot just 39% from the field, but wound up making 15 of 39 (39%) from long range.
Towson ranks second in the CAA in field goal percentage (44.5%) and second in field goal defense (42.3%). They also lead the league in three-point shooting (37.3%), but rank 7th in three-point defense (34.5%). They also rank second behind Charleston in rebounding margin (+5.83) and eighth in turnover margin (-0.03).
Timberlake leads the Tigers and ranks fourth in the CAA with 17.3 points per game and shoots 42.1% from long range. Thompson adds 12.6 points, 7.9 rebounds on 56.8% shooting.
