The 4th ranked Bruins have bounced back nicely from a two-game conference losing streak to Arizona and USC in January. Since then, the Bruins have gone 6-0 including a 78-43 blowout win at home over California on Saturday night. The 43 points represent the lowest total points allowed by UCLA all season. Jaime Jaquez Jr. led the Bruins with 20 points to go along with a team-leading eight rebounds. UCLA's defense held Cal to just 11-of-50 shooting, for just 22% from the floor overall.

“Obviously, our defense was as good as it could be early in the game, and then we held them to 11 field goals for the entire game,” said UCLA head coach Mick Cronin after the blowout win. “Good effort by us. Tonight, the goal was to stay focused, make sure we're professional, and we have the correct attitude. We try to practice that hard around here. The results speak for themselves when you do that. It was good to get a lot of guy s some minutes.”

UCLA is alone in first in the Pac-12 with a two-game lead with just four games left on the schedule. Not surprisingly, the Bruins have dominated the statistical categories in the Pac-12. The Bruins are second in the conference in scoring offense. They are also second in field goal percentage and third in three-point shooting. UCLA is also first in the conference in fewest turnovers. Defensively, the Bruins are first in the Pac-12 in scoring defense. They are fifth in opponent's field goal percentage and third in 3pt defense. The Bruins are seventh in total rebounding in the Pac-12 but are first in offensive rebounding.
