Vanderbilt at LSU Prediction – Basketball Picks 2/22/23

The Vanderbilt Commodores will head down to Baton Rouge to face the LSU Tigers in conference play from the Maravich Center on the SEC Network. Vanderbilt leads the all-time series, 59-50, but the home team has won the last six matchups.

Vanderbilt improved to 15-12 after defeating Auburn in Nashville. The Commodores brawled with the Tigers for 40 minutes, and they snuck away with a two-point victory, 67-65. Vandy is scoring 71.2  points per game, while allowing 71.4 ppg, and shooting 41.7% from the floor.

Vanderbilt has won their last five games, and it’s very possible they can keep things going here. The Commodores are 8-6 in SEC play, with a 4-5 road record. Vandy got veteran big man Liam Robbins back at the beginning of the month, and his presence in the middle has been the key to their winning streak. The 7’ center has scored 24 points or more in each of the last three games, and he leads the team in scoring (15.1) and rebounding (6.9). Baton Rouge native Jordan Wright (9.8 ppg, 4.6 rpg) double-doubled in the win over Florida, and he could be in for a strong outing in a return home here.
