No. 6 Virginia will try to remain positioned atop the ACC standings when it travels to Boston College on Wednesday night. The Cavaliers have won 11 of their last 12 games since getting off to a 2-2 start to conference play, and they are riding a four-game winning streak coming into this matchup. Boston College was able to snap a two-game losing streak with a 75-69 win at Florida State on Saturday, but it lost to Virginia by 19 points at the end of January.
Virginia got off to an 8-0 start to the season, picking up wins over then-No. 5 Baylor and then-No. 19 Illinois during that stretch. The Cavaliers lost three of their next five games, including conference setbacks against Miami and Pittsburgh, but they have been excellent since then. They have won 11 of their last 12 games, entering this contest on a four-game winning streak that includes victories over NC State, Duke, Louisville and Notre Dame. Their win over the Fighting Irish did not come as easy as expected, with Kihei Clark hitting a pair of late free throws to help his team avoid getting upset as 13.5-point favorites.

Clark was a fitting man to seal the deal, as he holds Virginia’s career assists record and is in his fifth season with the program. His veteran presence has allowed the Cavaliers to maintain the sixth-lowest turnover rate in college basketball. They are also inside the top 40 nationally in 3-point percentage (37.1). Virginia’s weakness on the offensive end has been a rebounding rate that is No. 275, but Boston College’s defense is No. 203 in that category. The Eagles are No. 256 in defensive field goal percentage. Senior guard Armaan Franklin leads Virginia in scoring with 12.7 points per game, while Clark (11.8) and Jayden Gardner (11.1) are both in double figures as well.
