Utah State at Wyoming – 2/21/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Utah State Aggies will head up to Laramie to take on the Wyoming Cowboys in Mountain West play from the Auditorium on the CBSSN. Wyoming leads the all-time series, 33-27, but Utah State has won seven of the last nine matchups.

Utah State improved to 21-7 after defeating Nevada in Logan. The Aggies trailed big at the break, but they’d flip the script on the Wolf Pack in the second half, and hand them a nine-point loss, 75-66. USU is scoring 78.9points per game, while allowing 70.2 ppg, and shooting 48% from the field.

Utah State responded to a two-skid by winning their last two at home, and they’ll look to close the season strong in hopes of a bid to the Big Dance. The Aggies are 10-5 in MWC play, with a 4-4 road record. The Aggies carry one of more diverse teams in the nation, and they have five double digit scorers. Junior guard Steven Ashworth led the team with 20 points in the win over Nevada, and he leads USU in scoring (15.9) and assists (4.6). The Aggies start Taylor Funk and Dan Akin in the front court. Funk scored 21 points in the win over CSU, and he’s now up to 13.4 ppg and 5.4 rpg. Akin plays with a very high motor, and leads the team in rebounding (7.1), while scoring 12.1 ppg. Veteran guards Spencer Bairstow (10.8 ppg, 4.9 rpg) and Max Shulga (11.9 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 4.0 apg) round out the USU lineup.
