The 2022-23 NHL season goes on with a 13-game Saturday card and brings this Interconference clash from the SAP Center in San Jose, California when the Buffalo Sabres take on the San Jose Sharks at 10:30 p.m. ET.
These teams met in December with Buffalo downing the Sharks at home, 6-3. The Sabres were the favorite at -151 with the total set at 6.5. Buffalo is the favorite for this contest as well (-120) with the total still at 6.5.
Seven different players scored goals as the Buffalo Sabres rolled over the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday, 7-3. The victory snapped a three-game winless streak for the team (0-3-1). Buffalo has been a very solid road team this season (16-8-2). They are currently five points out from the final playoff spot in the East.
Buffalo jumped out to a 2-0 first-period lead, but the Ducks opened the second period with three goals to take a 3-2 lead. However, it was all Sabres from there, scoring five unanswered goals to close out the contest. Casey Mittelstadt gave his team the lead for good with just under two minutes left in the second. Eight different players had two points in the game, including Mittelstadt, who has five points over his last five games.

Buffalo went 1-5 with the man advantage, continuing to be one of the most deadly teams on the power play, fifth overall at 25.1%. The team is second overall at 3.70 goals per game, but they have been so prolific on offense at the expense of their defense. The Sabres are 30th in penalty killing (72.8%) and 25th in goals against average (3.47). Eric Comrie stopped 19 shots in the victory over Anaheim, but it will likely be Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (13-7-2, 3.47) in the net for this game.
