Creighton at St. John's – 2/18/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Creighton Bluejays will head out to Queens to take on the St. John’s Red Storm from the Carnesecca Arena on FS1. Creighton leads the all-time series, 16-10, after winning the last five meetings.

Creighton moved to 17-9 after falling to Providence on the road.  The Bluejays and Friars traded blows for 40 minutes, then after two overtime periods the host would escape with an eight-point win, 94-86. Creighton is scoring 76.3 ppg, while allowing 67.5 ppg, and shooting 47.1% from the field.

Creighton had their eight game-win snapped in what was a game of the year candidate that defines what Big East basketball is all about. The Jays shouldn’t hang their heads low at all after turning their season around, and they enter a manageable spot here in Queens. The Bluejays are 11-4 in Big East play, with a 3-5 record on the road. Ryan Kalkbrenner’s return changed the outlook of Creighton’s season, and the junior center leads the team in scoring (15.0), while grabbing 6.7 rpg. SDSU transfer Baylor Scheierman double-doubled in the first win over SJU, and he’s up to 13.2 ppg and a team-leading 8.2 rpg. Arthur Kaluma (12.2 ppg, 6.3 rpg) joins them up front, while sophomore guards Ryan Nembhard (11.8 ppg, 5.0 apg) and Trey Alexander (13.6 ppg) round out the starting five.
