The Detroit Red Wings (26-20-8, 60 points, 11th Eastern Conference) pay a visit to the Pacific Northwest on Saturday to play against the Seattle Kraken (31-18-6, 68 points, 4th Western Conference). Detroit defeated the Calgary Flames 5-2 on Thursday for their fifth straight victory.  Detroit is 11th in the Eastern Conference playoff standings but only two points behind the 8th and final spot currently held by the Washington Capitals. Seattle defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 6-2 on Thursday night and has won two of the last three. Seattle is 4th in the Western Conference playoff standings and just three points behind first place Dallas in a very tight conference race. Lucas Raymond is out for Detroit. Andre Burakovsky, Joonas Donskoi and Chris Driedger are out for Seattle.

Detroit has increased its goal scoring to 3.11 goals per game which is 19th in the NHL. The Red Wings are averaging 29.1 shots per game which is 27th but have the 18th best power play, scoring 21.3% of the time Detroit has the man advantage. Dylan Larkin is the points leader across the board for Detroit with team bests in goals scored with 21, assists with 34 and points with 55. Dominik Kubalik is second in goals scored with 16, while Filip Hronek is second in assists with 28 and in points with 36. Detroit has 41 goals scored on the power play in 54 games.

 

Detroit is allowing an average of 3.19 goals per game which is 19th in the NHL. The Red Wings are allowing an average of 31.0 shots per game which is 13th. Detroit's penalty kill unit successfully holds opponents scoreless 77.4% of the time the Red Wings are short- handed which is 18th in the league. Goalie Ville Husso is 21-12-5 with a 2.91 goals against average, .905 save percentage and three shutouts. Husso has appeared in 39 games, while Detroit's other two goalies have appeared in a total of 18 games.
