Arkansas at Texas A&M – 2/15/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Arkansas Razorbacks will head down to College Station to take on the Texas A&M Aggies in SEC play from Reed Arena on ESPN2. A&M and Arkansas were once rivals in the Southwest Conference, and the Hogs lead the all-time series, 62-47, but they’ve traded each of the last nine games.

Arkansas dropped to 17-8 after losing to Mississippi State in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks failed to respond to a slow start, and ended up falling to the Bulldogs by six points, 70-64. Arkansas scores 74.5 points per game, while allowing 65.1 ppg, and shooting 47.8% from the field.

Arkansas’ uncharacteristic home loss to an unranked Mississippi State team wasn’t ideal at this point in the season, and with a brutal three-game stretch to close the year, they might find themselves on the wrong side of the ball. There’s still time left for Eric Musselman’s team to figure this out, but they face a stiff test here. The Razorbacks are 6-6 in SEC play, with a 2-5 road record. Ricky Council IV has scored 19 points or more in three of the last five games, and he leads the Hogs in scoring (16.9). Veteran guard Davonte Davis (10.5 ppg, 4.4 rpg) has scored 15 points or more in nine of the last ten games. Freshman guard Anthony Black scored a team-high 23 points versus the Bulldogs last time out, and he’s now up to 13.2 ppg and a team-lead 4.1 apg.
