Ole Miss vs. Florida Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-15-2023

The Ole Miss Rebels (10-15, 8-15-2 ATS, 12-13 O/U) collide with the Florida Gators  (13-12, 12-13 ATS, 10-15 O/U) in an SEC showdown on Wednesday evening. The Rebels lost a home decision against South Carolina on Saturday. The Gators were hit with a home loss against Vanderbilt on Saturday. Each squad recorded a home win in last year's two meetings.

The Ole Miss Rebels are in need of wins. They have now dropped six out of their last seven games due to weak offensive production. Ole Miss beat Georgia 78-74 on Wednesday but were nine-point favorites in a disappointing 64-61 home loss to South Carolina on Saturday to dip to 2-10 in SEC action. Many of the conference losses have been by double-digits. The Rebels have covered the spread in two of their last three games.

Matthew Murrell continues to slump. The junior guard has shot below 30% in four consecutive games after sinking only eight points on Saturday. Murrell is only averaging 14.3 PPG on 37% shooting. Jaemyn Brakefield has netted at least 15 points in two of his last three games and shot at least 50% in two of those performances. The junior forward is posting 10 PPG along with 5.4 RPG. Amaree Abram has scored eight or fewer points in three consecutive bouts. The freshman guard has recorded an average of 8.1 PPG.

The Rebels are ranked 113th in the country in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and are only 2-6 on the road including a win against South Carolina. Ole Miss has eclipsed 70 points in two of their last three games but is only averaging 67.4 points on the season, pegging them 283rd. They are allowing an average of 68.1 points, placing them 133rd.
