Boston College at Pittsburgh Prediction – Basketball Picks 2/14/23

The Pittsburgh Panthers will host the Boston College Eagles in ACC play from the Petersen Center. Pitt and BC first faced off annually as rivals in the Big East, and the Panthers hold an all-time series lead of, 37-21.

Boston College dropped to 12-14 after falling to N.C. State at home. The Eagles were blitzed by the Wolfpack, and after being out scored by double digits in both halves they’d fall by 30 points, 92-62.  BC is scoring 66.3 points per game, while allowing 67.5 ppg, and shooting 43.3% from the field.

Boston College has been misleading over the past few weeks, picking up wins over Clemson and Virginia Tech, before being blown out by N.C. State last weekend. The Eagles will likely miss postseason play, but it’s good to see they’ve still played competitive basketball. BC is 6-9 in ACC play, with a 2-6 road record. A huge reason behind the change of course for BC is due to the play of senior Quinten Post. The 7’0 big has been able to control games from the inside, and after scoring 20 points or more in five of the last seven games, he leads BC in scoring (16.8) and rebounding (6.2). Veteran guard Makai Ashton-Langford remains effective for the Eagles, and after flirting with a triple-double in the win over VT, he’s up to 12.4 ppg and 3.3 rpg.
