The Loyola-Chicago Ramblers will play the UMass Minutemen Tuesday at William D. Mullins Memorial Center. Tip-off from Amhestert, MA, is at 7:00 p.m. ET. The Minutemen are 3.5-point favorites and the game total is 145.5 points.
Loyola-Chicago, 8-16 SU and 7-17 ATS, lost to Richmond on Saturday. The Ramblers are 1-4 in their past five and 2-10 in Atlantic 10 competition.
UMass, 13-12 SU and 11-14 ATS, lost to La Salle on Saturday. The Minutemen are 1-4 in their past five and 4-9 in A-10 play.
This is the first meeting between these programs.
The Ramblers have dropped 11 of 13 since beating Green Bay, Clemson, and Albany in consecutive games in mid-December. The falloff has been brutal for Loyola-Chicago, which is now in last place in the Atlantic 10. There's still time, though, for the Ramblers to get back on track with six regular season games and the conference tournament remaining.
Richmond outlasted Loyola-Chicago 74-71 over the weekend, as each team shot over 50 percent overall. The Spiders, though, were 16-of-19 (84.2%) from the free-throw line, while the Ramblers were 7-of-11 (63.6%). Freshman guard Ben Schwieger paced Loyola-Chicago in scoring with 17 points.
