A pair of teams from the CAA take the floor looking to earn a late-season triumph as they collide in the Empire State. The Drexel Dragons take the short trip across the state line as they travel to face the Hofstra Pride Monday night. Drexel comes in off a 73-66 overtime win over Towson at home Saturday in their previous contest, winning outright as a three-point underdog. Hofstra cruised to an easy 86-57 road win over Monmouth in their previous game, covering the line as an 11.5-point favorite Saturday in their most recent game. In the all-time series between the teams, the Pride own a 46-44 advantage and have won six of the last seven meetings, including three straight. The most recent meeting saw Hofstra pick up an 83-73 road win on February 10, 2022.

Drexel won their second straight and their third in the last four games as they knocked off Towson at home in overtime Saturday their last time out. The Dragons improved to 15-11 overall on the season and stand fifth in the conference with a 9-5 record, 2.5 games behind Charleston for the top spot. Against Towson, Drexel trailed 9-2 early but rebounded to take a 31-30 lead at intermission. The Dragons led by as many as seven in the second half yet found themselves going to overtime with the teams tied at 56. In the extra session, Drexel trailed 64-60 with 1:59 to play before closing the game on a 13-2 run to earn the win. Drexel shot 45.3% from the field, including five of 19 from three-point range, and won the rebounding battle 36-27 to offset turning the ball over 18 times. Lamar Oden Jr. led the Dragons with 19 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

On the season, the Dragons are just 304th in the nation in scoring offense as they put up an average of 66.7 points a night. Drexel is collecting 35 rebounds a night while they dish out an average of 12 assists per contest this season. The Dragons are well above average defensively, ranking 22nd in the nation in scoring defense with an average of 62.2 points per game. Amari Williams is the lone player averaging in double figures for Drexel as he puts up 13.8 points plus 8.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists a game this season. Coletrane Washington, Justin Moore, Lamar Oden Jr., Luke House, Jamie Bergens, Yame Butler, Mate Okros, Garfield Turner and Kobe Magee are key members in the rotation for coach Zach Spiker this season. Drexel shoots 42.9% from the floor as a team this season. The Dragons drain an average of 7.4 three-pointers a game while sinking 31.7% of their attempts from beyond the arc. Drexel is a below average team at the charity stripe as they convert 68.9% of their attempts on the year.
