Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Dallas Mavericks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-13-2023

Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas – Super Bowl

The new look Dallas Mavericks host the Minnesota Timberwolves Monday in a key Western Conference battle. The Mavericks are 30-27 while the Timberwolves are 30-29. These two teams split two games in Minnesota earlier this season. Tipoff is at 8:30 p.m. EST at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The Mavericks may have made the biggest splash at the trade deadline, or certainly one of them, but the Timberwolves also made a pretty big move at the deadlin. They shipped starting point guard D'Angelo Russell to the Lakers along with Jared Vanderbilt and Malik Beasley. In return, they got Mike Conley, Alexander Nickeil-Walker and a bunch of second round pick in a three team deal that also included Utah.

Not sure why they sent Russell packing, but Conley, while certainly older, is a very good point guard and his veteran presence and leadership should help. Conley played in the Timberwolves 128-107 loss to the Grizzlies on Friday finishing with 9 points and 3 assists. Jaylen Nowell led the way for Minnesota with 21 points off the bench. Anthony Edwards added 17 points. Edwards averages 24.7 points per game on the season. The Timberwolves re 10th in points per game and 19th in points against.
