The Atlanta Hawks play host to the San Antonio Spurs at the State Farm Arena on Saturday night.
The San Antonio Spurs have been ice-cold lately as they’ve lost 16 of their last 17 games overall and they will be hoping to put a halt to an 11-game slide after falling short to the Pistons in a 138-131 double overtime road loss last night. Devonte Graham led the team in scoring with 31 points off the bench, Zach Collins added 29 points with 11 rebounds and three assists while Malaki Branham chipped in with 27 points. As a team, the Spurs shot 42 percent from the field and 14 of 42 from the 3-point line as they squandered an early 16-point lead, rallied back from a nine-point deficit to force overtime where they finally came up short.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have been in a slump as they’ve lost six of their last 10 games overall and they will be looking to stay hot after taking down the Suns in a 116-107 win on Thursday. Trae Young led the team with 36 points, seven rebounds and 12 assists, Dejounte Murray added 19 points with eight rebounds and five assists while John Collins chipped in with 16 points. As a team, the Hawks shot 45 percent from the field and 10 of 29 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 36 points in the first quarter to open an early double-digit lead which ballooned to 20 points in the third quarter where the Hawks exploded for 37 points to put the game to bed early.
