UCLA was in action on the road Thursday night as they took on Oregon State, earning a 62-47 victory, covering the line as a 14.5-point favorite. Oregon hosted USC at home Thursday night in their previous contest and rolled to a 78-60 win to cover the line as a five-point favorite. In the all-time series between the schools, the Bruins own a 91-39 advantage. That includes a 65-56 home victory in the first meeting on this season on December 4, 2022, snapping Oregon’s four-game win streak in the series.

UCLA saw their defense step up as they went on the road at Oregon State to earn a third straight victory. The Bruins improved to 20-4 overall and stand 11-2 in the Pac-12, leaving them half a game ahead of Arizona for the top spot in the conference. Against Oregon State, UCLA led by two with 6:29 to play in the first half before finishing the half on a 13-2 run to take a 31-18 edge at halftime. The Bruins weren’t challenged the rest of the way, leading by as many as 27 en route to the win. UCLA shot 50% from the field, including six of 18 from three-point range, and forced 18 turnovers to offset 15 turnovers of their own. Amari Bailey led the Bruins with 24 points in the win.

The Bruins average 74.1 points per game so far this season, putting them 133rd in the nation in scoring offense. UCLA is above average on the glass, grabbing 35.7 boards a night, and dishes off 14.9 assists pe r game. The Bruins are excellent on the defensive end, ranking 9th in scoring defense as they are allowing 59.7 points per game. Jaime Jaquez Jr. leads the team as he puts up 16 points and 7.9 rebounds a night on the year. Tyger Campbell (12.8 points, 4.9 assists), Jaylen Clark (13.2 points, 6.6 boards) and David Singleton (10.1 points) are solid secondary scoring options. Amari Bailey (10.6 points), Adem Bona, Dylan Andrews and Kenneth Nwuba have to step up and contribute offensively for the Bruins. UCLA is shooting 46.6% from the floor as a team this season. The Bruins knock down an average of 6.3 triples a night while draining 35.7% from beyond the arc. UCLA is average at the free throw line as they are connecting on 71.5% as a team this season.
