NC State vs. Boston College Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-11-2023

Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas – Super Bowl

The NC State Wolfpack and Boston College Eagles will take the court Saturday at Conte Forum for an Atlantic Coast Conference clash. Tip-off from Chestnut Hill, MA, is at 12:00 p.m. ET.

Eagles sophomore guard Jaeden Zackery is questionable with a leg injury and junior guard DeMarr Langford Jr. is questionable to play after missing the past three games with a knee injury.

NC State, 19-6 SU and 11-12-2 ATS, lost to Virginia on Tuesday. The Wolfpack are 4-1 in their past five and 9-5 in ACC play.

Boston College, 12-13 SU and 11-14 ATS, beat Virginia Tech on Wednesday. The Eagles are 3-2 in their past five and 6-8 in ACC play.

BC beat NC St. 69-61 in the most recent meeting last season. The Wolfpack lead the series 15-13.

NC State's four-game winning streak came to a halt against Virginia, but that might not be enough to derail its momentum. The Wolfpack have won eight of their past ten, scoring victories over Duke, Virginia Tech, Miami, and Wake Forest. Just 1.5 games out of first place in the ACC, they can secure a top seed in the conference tournament with a strong finish, at the least.

NC State finished with just 50 points in its last game at UVA. The Wolfpack were outscored 34-20 in the first half and only led by one point in the game. They shot 33.3 percent from the field, including 8-for-27 from long range. The Wolfpack did win the rebounding battle 37-31, grabbing 13 offensive rebounds.

NC State averages 78.4 points per game (37th) and shoots 44.7 percent from the field (179th), including 34.9 percent from beyond the arc (154th). It converts 72.2 percent of its free throws (162nd) and averages 34.6 rebounds (47th) with a +3.2 rebounding margin. The Wolfpack are 47th in offensive efficiency and 140th in effective field goal percentage (51.2%).

Sophomore guard Terquavion Smith leads NC State in scoring this season. He averages 18.5 points and 4.6 assists per game. Other players to watch are senior guard Jarkel Joiner (15.8 PPG and 4.6 RPG), senior guard Casey Morsell (12.8 PPG and 4.5 RPG), and senior forward D.J. Burns Jr. (11.9 PPG and 5.0 RPG).

NC State surrenders 69.3 points per game on defense (178th), and its opponents shoot 43.8 percent from the floor (198th), including 30.8 percent from long range (43rd). It's 61st in defensive efficiency, 79th in tempo, and 30th in assist-per-turnover ratio (1.36).
