Facing each other for the final time in the regular season, the Marist Red Foxes (8-14, 10-10-2 ATS, 4-9 MAAC) and Saint Peter's Peacocks (9-13, 8-13-0 ATS, 4-9 MAAC) will but heads in Jersey City this time. Their clash in Poughkeepsie ended with a 61-57 Peacocks victory. The Red Foxes were 3.0-point favorites in that game, but Saint Peter's covered easily. Round two is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 p.m. in the Peacocks' Yanitelli Center.
Losing to Saint Peter's kicked off a five-game losing streak for Marist, but they took down Canisius on Sunday to bring it to an end. Marist outrebounded Canisius 45-31 and held them to 37.3% shooting from the floor. The Red Foxes also led throughout the entire second half. Senior Patrick Gardner was phenomenal, with 29 points, nine boards, and three assists. Those were all team highs.

Marist is 3-6 on the road this season. They've covered the spread in two straight games. KenPom has them ranked at 307 with an adjusted tempo that is 278th. They're tied with Saint Peter's in the MAAC standings and six games behind first place.
The Red Foxes' slow pace leads to only 62.5 points per game, one of the lowest totals in the nation. Tempo isn't the only culprit though, as their 40.6% shooting from the floor is ninth in the MAAC and 342nd nationwide. They aren't much better from deep, knocking down 30.7% of their three-point attempts. That's also ninth in the conference while ranking 328th in the nation.
Defensively, Marist allows 66.3 points per game on 42.8% shooting, sixth and seventh in the conference, respectively. However, they struggle with threes, allowing foes to hit 36.6% of their attempts, 11th among the 12 MAAC teams and 327th nationally.
