The Toronto Raptors play host to the San Antonio Spurs at the Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday night.
The San Antonio Spurs have been in terrible form as they’ve lost 14 of their last 15 games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a 10th straight loss after getting thrashed by the Bulls in a 128-104 road loss on Monday. Keldon Johnson led the team with 21 points on eight of 12 shooting, Malaki Branham added 15 points while Jakob Poeltl chipped in with 14 points, nine rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Spurs shot 44 percent from the field and eight of 26 from the 3-point line as they put up a fight to hang in the contest after allowing 39 points in the first quarter, until they finally gave up in the fourth quarter where they got outscored by 38-19 to lose big in the end.
Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors have been in decent shape as they’ve won five of their last eight games overall and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Grizzlies in a 106-103 road win on Sunday. Pascal Siakam led the team with 19 points, six rebounds and five assists, Chris Boucher added 17 points and 10 rebounds off the bench while Scottie Barnes chipped in with 16 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. As a team, the Raptors shot just 43 percent from the field and 11 of 36 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble when they were trailing by 15 points, before they sprung to life in the fourth quarter where they held the Grizzlies to just 17 points to steal the unlikely victory.
