UNC Wilmington at College of Charleston – 2/8/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The UNC-Wilmington Seahawks will cross the Carolina border to face the Charleston Cougars in Colonial League play from the TD Arena. Wilmington leads the head-to-head series, 14-8, but Charleston did win the first meeting last month by two points.

Wilmington improved to 19-6 after beating William & Mary in Williamsburg. The Seahawks struggled offensively, and they’d be outscored by double figures in each half by the Tigers en route to a 21-point defeat. Wilmington is scoring 69.4 points per game, while allowing 62.4 ppg, and shooting 44.7% from the field.

UNC-Wilmington responded to their largest loss of the season with four straight wins, and they come into Charleston with revenge on their mind and a real chance to upset the conference leaders here.  UNCW is 9-3 in Colonial League play, with an impressive 7-4 road record. Trazarien White leads the way for the Seahawks. The sophomore forward scored 21 points in the win over W&M last time out, and he leads Wilmington in scoring (14.1) and rebounding (6.1). NDSU transfer Maleeck Harden-Hayes went off for a career-high 31 points in the win over Stony Brook and he’s second on the team in scoring at 10.6 ppg.
