The Elon Phoenix will travel to the Corbett Sports Center on Wednesday evening in a Colonial Athletic Conference matchup to take on the North Carolina A&T Aggies. The Aggies are 11-14 (6-6) so far and are riding a two-game losing streak after an 87-63 road loss on Thursday against the UNC Wilmington Seahawks. These teams played on Jan. 11 and the Aggies picked up an 80-71 road win.
The Elon Phoenix have been doing extremely well and are coming off a good 74-73 road win against the Northeastern Huskies. They controlled the game in the opening half as they outscored Northeastern 39-28. They shot the ball at a good level as they were 30-of-60 (50 percent) overall, 6-of-25 (24 percent) from three, and nine free-throw attempts. Freshman guard Max Mackinnon led the team as in 35 minutes he finished with 20 points, two rebounds, eight assists, one steal, and four turnovers. Defensively, they were brutal as they allowed 51.1 percent from the floor and 39.1 from deep here. Elon needs to improve a bit as they forced 14 turnovers with three steals and a pair of blocks throughout the game.
