A pair of Big 12 teams collide on the hardwood in search of a victory in the Lone Star State. The Oklahoma Sooners are on the road as they travel to take on the #14 Baylor Bears Wednesday night. Oklahoma was routed 93-61 on the road by West Virginia in their previous game Saturday, failing to cover the line as a 5.5-point underdog. Baylor cruised to an easy 89-62 home win over Texas Tech in their previous game Saturday, covering the line as a 9.5-point favorite. In the all-time series between the schools, the Sooners own a 44-22 advantage though the Bears have won nine of the last 10 meetings. That includes a 62-60 road win in the first meeting this season on January 21.

Oklahoma dropped their second straight and their fifth in the last six games as they were pasted on the road by West Virginia Saturday. The Sooners fell to 12-11 overall and stand ninth in the Big 12 with a 2-8 mark in conference play. Against West Virginia, Oklahoma hung around for a bit as they were within four with 7:16 to play in the first half before the roof fell in on them. The Sooners were outscored 29-7 the rest of the half to trail 56-30 at intermission. Oklahoma trailed by as many as 34 in the second half en route to the blowout loss. The Sooners shot 37.3% from the field, including five of 21 from three-point range, and turned the ball over 16 times in the defeat. Grant Sherfield paced Oklahoma with 16 points in the loss.

The Sooners have been below average offensively this season, averaging 67.8 points per game on the year, putting them 278th in scoring offense. Oklahoma haul s down 32.3 rebounds per contest while handing out 13.3 assists per game on the season. The Sooners are solid on the defensive end of the floor as they give up an average of 66.3 points per game, putting them 88th in scoring defense. Grant Sherfield is one of two players averaging in double figures as he puts up 16.9 points plus 3.2 assists per game this season. Tanner Groves adds 9.7 points plus seven rebounds per game. Jacob Groves (7.4 points), Jalen Hill (10.1 points), Sam Godwin, Milos Uzan, Bijan Cortes, Joe Bamisile, C.J. Noland and Otega Oweh are other key pieces for second-year coach Porter Moser, who came over from Loyola Chicago last offseason. Oklahoma shoots 47.2% from the floor as a team this year, which is 48th in the nation. The Sooners knock down 6.7 three-pointers a game while shooting 35.3% from beyond the arc. Oklahoma has been above average at the line as they are converting a solid 73% of their chances on the season.
