San Jose State Spartans (14-9) vs. Fresno State Bulldogs (8-14)

The 2022-23 NCAA men’s basketball season continues Tuesday, February 7, with the San Jose State Spartans facing off against the Fresno State Bulldogs in the Mountain West Conference battle at Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.  

SJSU and Fresno State lock horns for the second time this term, and the Bulldogs open as slight 1.5-point home favorites with a total of 125.5 points. Back in January, the Spartans defeated the Bulldogs 74-64 as 3-point home favorites, and the game flew over a 122-point line. 

The San Jose State Spartans (14-9; 15-7 ATS; 5-5 conf.) extended their home winning streak to three games this past Saturday, outlasting the Wyoming Cowboys 84-64 in a pick ‘em contest. SJSU made 56.6% of its field goals and 50.0% of its 3-pointers (11-for-22) while forcing the Cowboys into 17 turnovers. 

Junior guard Omari Moore tortured Wyoming for 29 points, six assists, and a couple of blocks and steals. He’s been the Spartans’ best player all season long, tallying 16.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per contest, while sophomore guard Alvaro Cardenas is adding 10.3 points and 3.4 assists a night. 

SJSU is No. 104 in the NCAA NET Rankings and No. 106 in the KenPom rankings. The Spartans score 110.8 points per 100 possessions (75th in the country) but surrender 104.9 points in return (168th). Per Bart Torvik, the Spartans’ defense ranks 362nd in the nation in turnover percentage (12.8%) and 184th in 3-point percentage (34.1%).
