Nevada Wolf Pack (18-6) vs. New Mexico Lobos (19-4)

Week 14 of the 2022-23 college basketball season goes on Tuesday, February 7, with the Nevada Wolf Pack taking on the New Mexico Lobos in the Mountain West Conference showdown at The Pit in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 

The Wolf Pack meet the Lobos for the second time in 2022-23, and New Mexico opens as a 3.5-point home fave with a total of 150.0 points. Their first encounter of the season was a proper nail-biter, as Nevada prevailed over New Mexico in double overtime, 97-94. 

The Nevada Wolf Pack (18-6; 15-7-1 ATS; 8-3 conf.) are coming off Friday’s 72-52 thrashing of the Air Force Falcons. The Wolf Pack pulled away in the second half, allowing the Falcons to score just six points through the final 9:20. Nevada shot 47.8% from the field and went 24-for-32 from the foul line while posting an excellent 16/7 assist-to-turnover ratio. 

Senior guard Jarod Lucas scored 19 points against Air Force, and junior seven-footer Will Baker added 17 points and eight rebounds. The Wolf Pack recorded their second win on the spin, as they beat the No. 22 San Diego State Aztecs 75-66 on the last day of January. Nevada made 50.0% of its field goals versus SDSU and committed just six turnovers on the night. 

Nevada is No. 34 in the NCAA NET Rankings and No. 42 in the KenPom rankings. The Wolf Pack are a top-50 team in the country in both offensive and defensive efficiency, tallying 112.7 points per 100 possessions (48th) and surrendering 97.5 points in return (42nd). Nevada makes 44.5% of its field goals (188th) and 79.4% of its free throws (5th), and the Wolf Pack are 14th in the country in free-throw rate.
