Wake Forest at Notre Dame Prediction – Basketball Picks 2/4/23

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will head up to South Bend to face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in ACC play from the Purcell Pavilion. This marks the 15th time Notre Dame and Wake face off, and the Fighting Irish hold the head-to-head lead, 8-6.

Wake Forest fell to 14-9 after losing to Duke in Durham. The Demon Deacons nearly battled back to defeat the Blue Devils, but they’d fall by just two points. Wake is scoring 77.2 points per game, while allowing 73.1 ppg, and shooting 46.3% from the floor.

Wake Forest finds themselves in the midst of a four-game skid, and they’ll need to avoid slipping up against a veteran Irish team here on the road. Wake is 6-6 in ACC play, with a 3-5 road record. Tyree Appleby has been impressive after coming over from Florida, and after going for a game-high 27 points against Duke, he now averages team-leads of 18.1 ppg and 6.0 apg. Second-year guard Cameron Hildereth has been dynamic alongside him in the backcourt, scoring 15 points or more in seven of the last nine games to bring his season totals to 13.1 ppg and 6.1 rpg. Junior guard Damari Monsanto is the team’s best shooter, and after hitting a career-best seven treys against the UVA, he’s up to 12.9 ppg.
