Rider, 12-9 SU and 9-10 ATS, defeated Saint Peters 82-61 on Friday. The Broncs are 5-0 in their past five and 9-3 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference competition.
Manhattan, 8-13 SU and 13-7 ATS, defeated Siena 71-66 on Friday. The Jaspers are 2-3 in their past five and 6-6 in MAAC play.
Rider defeated Manhattan 67-65 on Jan. 22. The Broncs shot 48.9 percent from the field and outrebounded the Jaspers 36-21.
Following Friday's win and Siena's loss, Rider is now in a first-place tie with the Saints in the MAAC standings. The Broncs lost at Siena on Jan. 8 but will host the Saints on Feb. 24. Will the Broncs ride their momentum to a first-place finish?
The win over Saint Peter's was dominant, as Rider led 46-23 at the half and never trailed in the game. The Broncs hit 54.2 percent of their field goals, including 8-of-12 three-point attempts (66.7%). They also outrebounded the Peacocks 33-22. Senior guard Dwight Murray Jr. paced Rider with 15 points, six assists, and five rebounds.
