The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos will travel to the Premier America Credit Union Arena on Saturday night in a Big West Conference matchup to take on the Cal State Northridge Matadors. The Gauchos are a dominant 18-3 (9-1) so far this season and are riding a five-game winning streak after coming off a 69-62 home win on Thursday against the Cal Poly Mustangs. The Mata dors are 4-18 (1-10) right now and are riding a two-game losing streak after an 81-56 road loss last Saturday against the UC Irvine Anteaters. These programs faced off on Jan. 19 and the Gauchos picked up a 72-52 home win. 

The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos have been doing extremely well and are coming off a 68-62 home win against the Cal Poly Mustangs. They did well in the first half as they outscored the Mustangs 35-27. They shot the ball at an outstanding level as they were 23-of-40 (57.5 percent) overall,6-of-12 (50 percent) from three, and 27 free-throw attempts. Senior forward Miles Norris led the team as in 36 minutes he finished with 18 points, four rebounds, one block, and a pair of steals. Defensively, they struggled as they allowed 47.8 percent from the floor and 50 percent from deep here. UC Santa Barbara did well as they finished with seven steals and two blocks throughout the game after forcing 12 turnovers. 

The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos are not doing too well of a job this season as they are 195th in the nation with 71.1 points per game thus far and shooting an incredible 49.6 percent from the floor and are averaging 14 assists per game. Defensively, they are giving up 61.8 points per game, which is 22nd in the country. They have been causing issues with 2.9 blocks and seven steals per game thus far.
