Missouri Tigers (17-5) vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs (14-8)

The 2022-23 NCAA men’s basketball season continues Saturday, February 4, with the Missouri Tigers taking on the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the Southeastern Conference showdown at Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, Mississippi.  

These two schools meet for the first time this term, and the Bulldogs aim for their seventh consecutive victory over the Tigers. Mississippi State opens as a 3.5-point home fave, while the totals sit at 138.5 points. 

The Missouri Tigers have gone 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five outings. After a 79-76 victory over No. 25 Arkansas and a heavy 85-64 defeat to No. 4 Alabama, the Tigers have won three straight games against Ole Miss 89-77, No. 12 Iowa State 78-61, and LSU 87-77. 

Senior forward Kobe Brown notched 26 points against the Tigers this past Wednesday. He also had eight rebounds, five assists, and a pair of steals, while fellow senior F Noah Carter added 14 points and four dishes. The Tigers dominated LSU, making 55.9% of their field goals (13-for-27 from deep) and posting a terrific 26/10 assist-to-turnover ratio. 

The Tigers boast the third-highest offensive rating in the country, tallying 119.8 points per 100 possessions. They shoot 58.1% from inside the arc (8th in the nation) and 35.8% from downtown (100th), while four guys average points in double figures including Kobe Brown (16.5 PPG, 6.0 RPG). The Tigers allow 105.3 points in return (188th) on 50.7% shooting from inside the arc (243rd) and 35.7% from beyond the 3-point line (294th). Missouri is No. 46 in the NCAA NET Rankings and No. 50 in the KenPom rankings.
