San Diego has lost two in a row and in a West Coast Conference matchup play host to Loyola Marymount, who had their win streak snapped in their last game.
Loyola Marymount had won four in a row before being blown out in their last game. They put up a season high, against a D1 team, earlier in the conference season in a 98-84 home win over San Diego. The Lions are 6-4 in WCC play, and 16-8 overall, and sit in third place in the conference 3.5 games out of first place.
San Diego has lost two in a row and four of their last five games. They are in second to last place in the WCC at 3-7 and are one of only three teams in the conference with a losing record, overall, at 10-14.
LMU was on the road in their last game where they were outscored by 18 points in the first half in a bad 89-61 loss to BYU. They only shot 37.5% from the floor, allowed the Cougars to shoot 53%, and they were down by as many as 30 points. Reserve Jalin Anderson led the way with 19 points, hitting five 3-pointers, and Cam Shelton chimed in for 15 points.
LMU came nowhere hear covering the spread as a 5-poijnt underdog and they had covered the spread in their previous four games.
On the season the Lions are averaging 75.7 ppg while giving up an average of 70.7 ppg. Shelton (19.1 ppg) leads three players for the team averaging over 10 ppg and he had averaged 25.3 ppg in the four games before the last one where he had 15 points. Keli Leaupepe (13.8 ppg 6.8 rpg) is the second leading scorer and leading rebounder an d he has 11 points in each of the last four games. Anderson (10.3 ppg) has gone for atleast13 points in four of the last five games. On the season the Lions are 3-6 on the road but they did hand a ranked Gonzaga team their only home loss this season.
