Hornets at Pistons Prediction – NBA Picks 2/3/23

The Charlotte Hornets and the Detroit Pistons collide at Little Caesars Arena on Friday night.

The Charlotte Hornets have been in decent shape as they’ve split their last eight games overall, but they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat in this one after getting routed by the Bulls in a 114-98 road loss last night. Terry Rozier led the team with 23 points, LaMelo Ball added 19 points with eight rebounds and six assists while Mason Plumlee chipped in with 16 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Hornets shot just 41 percent from the field and seven of 35 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Bulls in the first half, but that wasn’t the case in the third quarter where they managed just 21 points to allow the Bulls to pull away and win big in the end. Gordon Hayward had a rough night as he scored just nine points on two of nine shooting while PJ Washington scored just six points on three of 16 shooting.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons have been in a real slump as they’ve lost nine of their last 11 games overall and they will be looking to snap a third straight loss after having their game against the Wizards postponed on Wednesday. The Pistons haven’t seen the court since their 111-105 loss to the Mavericks on Monday. Bojan Bogdanovic led the team with 29 points, Saddiq Bey added 18 points while Jaden Ivey chipped in with 14 points but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Pistons shot 45 percent from the field and 14 of 39 from the 3-point line as they took it to the Mavericks and kept pace until the fourth quarter where they managed just 21 points to allow the Mavericks off the hook. Killian Hayes scored just eight points on three of 16 shooting and the Pistons just had no answer for the Mavs’ Luka Doncic who torched them for 53 points.
