Phoenix Suns vs. Boston Celtics Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-3-2023

Phoenix will play its second road game since mid-January when it travels to Boston on Friday night. The Suns have won six of their last eight games, but they are coming off a blowout loss against Atlanta. Boston has won back-to-back games against the Lakers and Nets, improving to 37-15 overall this season.

Phoenix got off to a 16-7 start this season before losing eight of its next 11 games and 17 of its next 22 games. The Suns have won six of their eight games since then, including wins over the Nets, Grizzlies and Raptors. They had their two-game winning streak snapped in a 132-100 blowout loss to Atlanta on Wednesday. This will be the Suns’ second road game since mid-January, with their only road game since Jan. 16 being an overtime win in San Antonio last Saturday. They have been without star guard Devin Booker for nearly six weeks due to a groin strain, and he is expected to miss this game as well before returning next week.

Booker is averaging a career-high 27.1 points in 29 games this season, with the team going 8-11 during his absence. The Suns trailed throughout their game against Atlanta on Wednesday, shooting just 4 of 28 from 3-point range. They also committed 16 turnovers that led to 31 points for Atlanta. Forward Miles Bridges scored a team-high 23 points for Phoenix, while Deandre Ayton added 20 points and nine rebounds. The Suns have not been a strong offensive team this season, ranked No. 21 in points per game (112.7). They are facing a Boston defense that is No. 8, allowing 112.0 points per contest.
