St. Bonaventure at Richmond Prediction – Basketball Picks 2/1/23

The St. Bonaventure Bonnies will stay in Virginia to face the Richmond Spiders in Atlantic 10 play from the Robins Center on ESPN+. This will mark the 30th time Richmond and St. Bonaventure face off, and UR holds the all-time series lead, 16-14, despite falling to the Bonnies in New York a couple of weeks ago.

St. Bonaventure moved to 11-11 after beating VCU in Richmond. The Bonnie’s responded to a slow start with a big second half, and came back to defeat the Rams by three points. SBU is scoring 66.8 ppg, while allowing 66.6 ppg, and shooting 42.2% from the field.

It’s been a transition year for Mark Schmidt and the Bonnies after losing so much from last year’s NIT Finalist squad. St. Bonaventure has been competitive, they’re unpolished offensively. The Bonnies are 5-4 in Atlantic 10 play, with a 1-7 record on the road. St Peter’s transfer Daryl Banks scored 29 points in the win over in-state for Fordham, and he leads the Bonnies in scoring (16.0). Freshman forward Yann Farell scored 15 points in the win over VCU, and he averages 8.6 ppg, and a team-lead 6.8 rpg. Former HC guard Kyrell Luc scores 12.3 ppg, while dishing out 4.5 apg.
