Rhode Island vs. St. Josephs Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-1-2023

Atlantic Ten action will take place in Philadelphia on Wednesday night as the St. Joseph's Hawks play host to the visiting Rhode Island Rams. The Rams come in with a record of 8-13 overall and 4-5 in A-10 play. Meanwhile, the Hawks sit at 10-11 on the season and are also 4-5 in league play, tied with URI for seventh in the standings. The opening tap is scheduled for 7:00 pm EST.

The Rhode Island Rams came into conference play with a record of just 4-9. The Rams have faired better in league action, just a game under .500 at 4-5. Last Saturday, URI made it two wins in a row with a 72-70 home win over La Salle. The Rams came back from 14 points down to pick up the win, the largest deficit that the team has overcome this season. Ishmael Leggett again led the way with 20 points for URI. It was Leggett's fifth 20+ point game of the season. URI shot 44% from the field overall and won the rebounding battle, 41-34 in the victory.

URI has been led by its defense this year and will hope to ride that defense to break the tie for seventh place with St. Joseph's in the Atlantic 10. The Rams are ranked eighth in the conference in scoring defense thus far. They are sixth in opponent's field goal percentage and seventh in 3pt defense. On the boards, URI has been stout as they rank third in the conference in total rebounds. Offensively, things have been difficult for the Rams. They are 13th in the A-10 in scoring offense. In addition, the team is 15th in field goal percentage in the conference and 15th in 3pt field goal percentage.
