St. Louis vs. Fordham Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 1-31-2023

Saint Louis will try to extend its six-game winning streak when it travels to Fordham on Tuesday night. The Billikens were able to keep their hot streak alive with a 74-70 win at Davidson on Friday, remaining atop the Atlantic 10 standings. Fordham has won four straight games coming into this matchup, including an 85-70 win over George Washington on Saturday.

Saint Louis put together a solid non-conference resume, beating Memphis and Providence while losing to then-No. 13 Auburn by just five points. The Billikens have been fantastic in Atlantic 10 play, winning seven of their first eight games. Their lone conference loss came on the road against UMass on Jan. 4, but they have responded with a six-game winning streak since then. They have been favorites in all six games during the hot stretch, although five of those have been single-digit spreads. Saint Louis picked up its best conference win of the year on Friday, beating Davidson as a 2.5-point favorite.

The Billikens are sitting atop the Atlantic 10 standings with a 7-1 record, but VCU is just one game back in the loss column with a 7-2 record. Saint Louis has been an excellent offensive team this season, ranked No. 49 in KenPom’s adjusted efficiency ratings. Its strength has been its low turnover rate, which can be attributed to a roster that ranks No. 16 of 363 Division I teams in experience. Sophomore guard Gibson Jimerson leads Saint Louis with 12.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, while Yuri Collins (12.1), Javonte Perkins (11.2) and Javon Pickett (10.6) are each scoring in double digits as well. They are facing a Fordham defense that is No. 33 in field goal percentage.
